Our Story

Even though Fawkes was late to our first date back in the spring of 2017, there was an instant connection (it might have helped that Fawkes brought their very cute pup Shiloh) and we soon became inseparable. Some of our first dates included nature hikes, board games, patio dinners, and lots of friend time-- all still pillars of our relationship years later.

We've seen each other through major transitions, hard times, and so many joyful moments, helping one another to not only survive, but thrive. Now we couldn't be more excited to begin the next chapter of our lives together-- growing our family! Through adoption, we hope to welcome a baby into our loving home. We know we have so much to share with our future child, from Fawkes' passion for getting their hands dirty in the garden to Robyn's love of singing.

Meet Fawkes they/them/theirs

Fawkes is described by family and friends as generous, kind, and methodical. They work as an air quality and health specialist for the State of Minnesota, where they spend each day working to address environmental racism and public health disparities caused by air pollution.

Fawkes was born and raised in the Twin Cities, Minnesota, and moved back after going to college and working in Iowa and Missouri. Fawkes' love of the great natural areas Minnesota provides, as well as their love for family, brought them home. They are excited to take this next step with Robyn to build their own family in the house that their (step-)mother was raised in.

After spending her childhood in St. Louis, MO, she now calls Minnesota her home and enjoys the diverse fun each season offers-- wildflowers in the spring, summer picnics and festivals, hiking in autumn woods, and boardgames and fires with friends all winter long.

Meet Lupin & Shiloh

Our family just wouldn't be the same without our sweet pups! Shiloh is a 9-year-old beagle mix who Fawkes adopted from a shelter in Missouri during grad school. She is calm and gentle, and loves getting pats from the kids in the park next door. Her favorite activities are sleeping in the sun and chasing rabbits.

We adopted Lupin as a puppy from a local animal rescue. He's a 2-year-old beagle/pit/mutt and he's full of energy, kisses, and love. He makes friends with every dog he meets at the dog park, and loves nothing more than zooming around the yard with his sister Shiloh.
